F1 2010 Chinese GP
Welcome to Shanghai..... for the fourth race of the season.
The Red Bulls have done it yet again to the front row on the grid.
One, two, three, four and five ..... and the lights go off with Alonso in front, from the 2nd row pulls to the left of the slow starting Red Bull to lead the race.
A few cars pit in to change tyres but the front runners remain on track.
The great start that Alonso got looks to good to be true. Yes, the replay clearly shows it a jump start which makes Webber the race leader.
Vettel into the pits, so are the rest of the front runners.Hamilton decides at the very last moment to change to the inters and skids off the racing line to dive into the pit lane. This is PIT LANE MAYHEM.
Alonso gets a drive through penalty for the jump start and the Red Bulls and the Mclarens are back into pits to change to the slicks.
Hamilton and Vettel having a race of their own in the pit lane.The stewards will be surely in action again on this.
The guys who gambled on the intermediate tyres, the gamble has not paid off.
well, after 7 laps this season is revving up.
Vettel, Hamilton and Webber move past the Lotus and are closing in on the middle of the pack.
Nico Rosberg , Button and Kubica lead the race in the 11th lap. The Renaults are looking good and are performing pretty well. There is a great three way race among the Force India , Red Bull and Mclaren of Sutil, Vettel and Hamilton respectively for the 7th place.
Hamilton wins the fight taking advantage of the tiff between Sutil and Vettel. There might be some impact on the front wing of the Red Bull.Webber pulls closer behind Vettel,looks like another three way battle on the track. And this time the Force India is squeezed out to ninth place by both the Red Bulls.
Nico Rosberg leads the race on slick tyres and thankfully for him the rain is 3 minutes away as per the radio communication from his team.
Nico into pits and Jenson Button leads the race. There is a front wing failure on one of the Red Bulls. We have yellow flags waving and the safety car is out for the second time in this race on lap 22. Looks like there is some debris on the track which needs to be cleared.
There is water running down the camera lens and it is raining. The race is taking yet another twist with the rain pouring down harder and behind the safety car Jenson Button has all the cars cluttered behind him driving at snails pace just before the staring line to race again. Off goes Button with the cars behind trying to get some racing space.
Barrichello and Massa fighting for position behind Vettel in ninth.
Hamilton now troubling Petrov and gets past into turn nine, the same place he passed Schumacher,great driving. Alonso now closing on Sutil for sixth position.
Hamilton closes in on Rosberg on lap 33 and is 0.7 faster than Button in the lead.
What a great battle this is turning out to be for 2nd position. Hamilton is right behind Rosberg on the straight but Rosberg holds position.
There is more rain expected.
Button has used the Rosberg Hamilton battle to his advantage and is ahead by a clear 7 seconds.Schumacher pits as Mercedes expects more rain and they know his tyres currently will not last race distance. Webber pits, Hamilton pits, Rosberg's team is ready for him in the pits.

Rosberg rejoins behind Hamilton.
And that gives the Mclaren a one two with Nico Rosberg down to third with the pit stop. The Force India, Ferrari and 4 more cars follow suit in the pit lane. This is what the race experts call Tyre Poker. Mclaren on a clear advantage leading the race. Not to forget Lewis Hamilton has a saw hanging over him with regard to the pit lane incident.
Meanwhile Petrov has dropped down to 9th place. The race positions have all changed with cars playing Tyre poker. The 1st and 2nd place between the Mclarens is just 3.8 seconds with a lotus in between. Sutil and Barrichello now fight for 12th position. Massa in 11th place desperate to get into points.Ahead there is a a great battle between Petrov and Alguersuari. Petrov wins the battle and Massa takes advantage and stacks his Ferrari behind Petrov very comfortably. Alguersuari must be very disappointed but cannot relax as he now has Adrian Sutil in his rear view mirrors.
48 laps into the race , Jenson button 1st , L Hamilton 2nd, Nico Rosberg 3rd and F Alonso 4th. There is no news as to why M Schumacher is running slow.
Everyone seems to be holding their positions as we close in on the end of the race.
We are looking at a potential one two for Mclaren Mercedes. Jenson Button has had a great choice of tyres and a brilliant race so far.
M Schumacher holds back Massa squeezing him out of the race track for teh 9th position. Sutil is just out of points in the 11 place.
Hamilton now 2.7 behind Button and comfortably ahead of Rosberg.
We are into the last lap of the Shanghai GP 2010, the Mclarens are running strong followed by Nico Rosberg for the Mercedes GP team.
Button leads Hamilton by 2.6 seconds as they start the final lap. Rosberg should hold off Alonso. Rain is getting heavier and Hamilton needs to be careful. Schumacher loses position to Massa and runs off the circuit at the final corner, holds on to tenth though.Sutil still out of points in eleventh.
The chequered flag is waived.
Button wins from Hamilton in a brilliant McLaren one-two. Button's second win of the season and he now leads the championship. Rosberg third, Alonso fourth and Kubica fifth. Button ecstatic over the radio, a fantastic win for him in the conditions. Sutil finishes eleventh just outside the points for Force India. Seventeen cars finish the race, including the two HRTs of K Chandok and B Senna - great result for them.
